Prof. Dr. Levent Bat, Head of the Department of Basic Sciences of Aquatic Products at Sinop University Faculty of Aquaculture, recently shared in interviews with Bloomberg and Anadolu Agency that seaweeds accumulating along the Black Sea coast are being used to produce organic fertilizer.

Prof. Dr. Bat emphasized that the fertilizer will initially be used in greenhouses for strawberry and lettuce cultivation, and that it plays an important role in reducing pollution caused by seaweed accumulation along the coasts. He also expressed confidence that the fully organic fertilizer will receive very positive feedback.
