During the event, 2nd grade students took part in interactive presentations and awareness sessions on marine litter, algae, and the protection of marine ecosystems. Following the seminars, the students participated in a coastal clean-up activity and collected waste along the shoreline.
The collected materials were later transformed into artworks during a creative workshop, encouraging children to rethink waste through art. Students also visited the exhibition of waste collected from the sea and had the opportunity to closely observe marine surface cleaning vessels and learn how marine clean-up operations are carried out.
Experts from Konstantin Preslavski University of Shumen, the project partner from Bulgaria, also joined the event and met with the students, bringing international environmental cooperation in the Black Sea Basin together with local awareness-raising activities.
