As a result of these studies, macroalgae species belonging to Ulva spp. were collected and evaluated for the purpose of organic fertilizer production. Laboratory-scale efforts have commenced to develop fertilizers in liquid, solid, and compost forms.
In the upcoming phases, these fertilizers are planned to be tested under greenhouse conditions on lettuce and strawberry plants. These trials aim to scientifically assess the effects of the fertilizers on plant yield, soil health, and nutrient content.
Fertilizers derived from marine macroalgae not only contribute to environmental sustainability but also represent a promising and economically valuable alternative in agricultural production.
